Worship in the Cinema - Tuesday Oct. 2nd @ 8pm

Join us in the Cinema (located on the ground floor of the Johnson Center between Jazzman’s & Dewberry Hall) at 8pm every Tuesday. We have a great team of leaders to lead us through singing, prayer, Scripture, a message, communion and of course free cookies to follow. The Scripture is “Romans 8:31-39” and the Message will be “No Matter How Far!” Everyone is invited. We hope to see you there!

Brown Bag Theology in Campus Ministry Room (Johnson Center room 239H) - Wednesday Oct. 3rd @ 12:00 (noon)

Every Wednesday Arise will have an open discussion group call “Brown Bag Theology.” We hope to challenge you each work in Worship and have offered this time to talk with one another about the things discussed at Worship the night before. The group will be led by Mark and will end by 12:50. So bring your lunch and an open mind. We hope to see you there!

Freshman/Sophomore Small Group Johnson Center (Guys in Room 244 with Tim & Girls in Room 243 with Lindsey) - Thursday Oct. 4th at 7pm

With all the pressures of school and life around it’s extremely important to have a group of people who can hold you up and journey with you. Knowing that the first years of college brings different challenges and excitement than any other group on campus, all freshman & sophomore students will be in small groups with other freshmen & sophomores. These groups are also divided into men and women groups. The guys will be with Tim in room 244 and the girls will be with Lindsey in room 243. So come and learn more about God, each other and yourself. Hope to see you there!

TONIGHT!!! Free Concert w/ the Mark Swayze Band - Monday Sept. 10th @ 8pm in the HUB (SUB II) Ballroom on Campus

Arise presents a free concert featuring: The Mark Swayze Band. The Mark Swayze Band is a Christian recording group coming to play a free concert at George Mason in the HUB Ballroom on Monday, September 10th at 8pm. They will feature music off of their current album “This Album Feeds Children” To date they have provided 15,000 meals for children and their families through album sales and our partnership with Children’s Hunger Fund (http://www.chfus.org/) through Lauren’s Table (http://laurenstable.org/). We hope you’ll bring a friend and join us in the HUB (SUB 2) ballroom on Monday, September 10th at 8pm.

Sept. 16 Tenth Avenue North Concert to Benefit Rising Hope UMC Mission Church

Ever wonder how a concert to help those in need in Northern Virginia? Join ARISE Campus Ministry on September 16th at Hylton Memorial Chapel for a Tenth Avenue North concert. Doors open at 5:30 and concert starts at 6:30. This concert will support Rising Hope Mission Church as they serve the homeless, the economically disadvantaged and those in recovery in the Rt. One corridor of Fairfax County (http://www.risinghopeumc.org/). Tickets are $25 a piece on your own or $30 at the door (They can be ordered by going to http://www.itickets.com/tour.). If you are a George Mason student and interested in attending the concert for $15 contact us now or join our event on facebook and Contact Mark by September 12th to reserve your $15 ticket. We will meet at the Starbucks on campus at 5:00 pm and ride together.

Stop Hunger Now Event - Sunday Sept. 9th @ 12:00 (noon) at Starbucks on Campus

Join us as we prepare food to feed hungry people all over the world. On September 9th at 12:00 we will meet at the Starbucks on Campus and go to Fairfax UMC to eat a meal together and then package over 10,000 meals that will go to people in need all over the world.
